About us

One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. At Viasat, we're on a mission to deliver connections with the capacity to change the world. For more than 35 years, Viasat has helped shape how consumers, businesses, governments and militaries around the globe communicate. We're looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.

What you'll do

Are you a self-starter who thrives at the intersection of technical solutions and financial execution? We are seeking an Aftermarket Spares Manager to own the end-to-end fulfillment lifecycle for our Antenna Systems spares sales business. Supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial and government customers, you will be the primary engine driving our spares business-from the initial RFQ response to final delivery.

This is a strategic position requiring a blend of technical curiosity and business insight. You will act as the "connective tissue" between our customers and our internal teams (Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Business Development, and Program Management) to ensure our global customers remain operational while achieving your financial targets.

The day-to-day

You will apply your excellent leadership skills, along with your sales and execution prowess to generate revenue and improve margins through operational excellence. Your core responsibilities will consist of the following:

  • End-to-End Fulfillment: Own the entire spares lifecycle while providing outstanding customer service. You will manage RFQ proposal responses using pricing models. You will coordinate internal pricing and lead times and track orders until they are successfully delivered for both make and buy components.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Partner closely with Systems Engineering to navigate sophisticated technical requirements. You will be accountable for identifying and qualifying alternative solutions or modern equivalents for obsolete components.
  • Revenue Growth: Move beyond reactive selling by analyzing failure data and field performance. You will develop Recommended Spares Parts Lists (RSPLs) to provide customers with proactive maintenance solutions and drive incremental revenue.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Serve as the central point of contact, coordinating with Procurement for sourcing, Planning for factory coordination, Engineering for technical solutions, and Business Development for strategic account growth. Additionally, you will present at executive-level forums such as Program Management Reviews.
  • Government & Commercial Compliance: Navigate the specific documentation and delivery requirements for both high-stakes government contracts and fast-paced commercial accounts.

Your success in this role will be measured by focusing on these four Key Performance Indicators:

  1. Awards: Total value of signed spares contracts and purchase orders.
  2. Revenue: Successful conversion of backlog into recognized sales.
  3. On-Time Delivery (OTD): Ensuring customers receive their parts when promised.
  4. RFQ Response Time: Speed and accuracy of turning around customer inquiries.

What you'll need

  • Experience: 4+ years in Project Management, Sales Support, Service Delivery, Operations & Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar); advanced Excel skills for data analysis; strong ability to influence others.

This is an onsite role based out of Duluth, GA
    Must be a US Citizen

What will help you on the job

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with antenna systems or RF components is a significant plus.
  • Autonomous Operator: You don't need a roadmap; you build one. You are comfortable making decisions and driving projects forward with minimal direction.
  • Technical Sales: You're comfortable discussing antenna schematics one hour and profit margins the next.
  • Data-Driven Approach: You enjoy digging into reliability data to find patterns and opportunities for proactive spares positioning.
