Job Description

The Modular Construction team at MiTek is revolutionizing the construction industry through the creation of a new way of designing and building that brings the industry into the digital era leveraging computational design, advanced BIM/VDC, and the physical internet. We are looking for an industrial engineer with advance degree and experience in manufacturing optimization and simulation to intern with our modular team.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis to optimize kitting, material handling, and assembly processes with designed TAKT times and target labor costs

  • Support the development of datasets and data structures that separates hard-coded parameters from model logic and enable seamless flow of data across our system

  • Leverage data and learnings from the pilot builds to refine the kitting, material handling, and assembly processes in support of the first commercial modular build

  • Support documentation and Productization of GT-developed optimization and simulation models for future use and scalability


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 4 years of research experience in the field of industrial engineering including process design, plant optimization, inventory control, supply chain optimization, and development of industrial standards

  • Master's degree in industrial engineering and/or in the process of obtaining a PhD in a field of study related to job responsibilities

  • Advanced programming experience in Python, R, Java, SQL and Matlab

  • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn
