This position performs complex and confidential functions in support of the Standards department and works closely with engineers, field teams, vendors, and leaders at all levels. What You Will Do
Support Standards processes and projects by preparing documents, meeting minutes, presentations, expense reports, purchase requisitions, and departmental communications. Coordinate and publish standards updates, including newsletters, intranet and website updates, archived records, and hardcopy publications. Collaborate with internal teams, field crews, vendors, and external stakeholders-supporting meetings, gathering technical data, and learning about new materials and products. Assist with research, documentation, and coordination for material recalls, trials, inspections, and special projects (including field work and inventory verification). Organize, track, and maintain standards records, drawings, files, and budgets while supporting billing, tooling, and training coordination.

Strong analytical and organizational skills to prioritize work and manage multiple projects. Clear, professional communication skills and the confidence to work with craft employees, leadership, vendors, and external partners. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort learning new tools such as AutoCAD, Laserfiche, Bluebeam, Maximo, iProc, Oracle, and similar systems. A growth mindset-interest in learning the standards process, networking across the organization, and developing toward future opportunities, including the Associate Standards Engineer path.
Position Description Performs complex and confidential functions in support of the Standards department. Working in collaboration with other teammates, this role helps create greater process efficiency and customer service within Standards. Handles highly confidential and sensitive information. This role supports a diverse group of important internal and external visitors and stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Exercises independent judgment required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload, support projects, and recommend changes in practices or procedures. Position-Related Responsibilities Performs tasks related to Standards processes and projects to include:
- Prepares memos, expense statements, purchase requisition, department forms and documents.
- Provides support for development, communication and publishing of standards including taking minutes for monthly committee meetings, creation of standard's monthly update newsletter, communication with stakeholders and maintenance of standards archived files.
- Prepares AutoCad drawings for publishing.
- Assists department staff with research and documents to support material recalls, trial material, standard development, and project coordination.
- Assists with internal and external customers for coordination of meetings and gathering of technical data and material cut sheets.
- Assists with department and small tools budget reporting.
- Utilizes Microsoft 365 products and other applications to produce documents, spreadsheets, presentations, meeting minutes and notifications.
- Organizes and tracks files, records, and materials.
- Assists with coordination of tool and material trial documentation and training scheduling in support of department staff.
- Coordinates vendor and other billing tasks.
- Facilitates monthly standard updates to department intranet page, company website and hardcopy book publishing.
- Maintains historical standards records and document storage.
- Serves as an integral member of the Standards team and works closely with the Associate Standards Engineer to support projects, as needed.
- Fulfills other tasks and responsibilities in support of Standards Department needs, as assigned.
- Provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.) Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong analytical ability is required to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
- Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment and adapt to change.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all internal craft and leadership levels and external customers.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- Must have proficient experience in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and relational databases (Microsoft 365, Laserfiche and AutoCad, preferred).
- Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher.
- Three to five years previous administrative experience with exposure in the electric utility business and/or standards or equivalent combination of education and experience.
