Role Overview

At Netsmart, our Carefabric platform is the engine that connects clinical and financial systems across the healthcare ecosystem. As a Software Engineer on the Carefabric team, you'll work on backend services that act as the "glue" tying multiple products and teams together-designing APIs, building integrations, and solving meaningful problems at scale.

Our team recently processed over 3 billion transactions in a 30day period, and Netsmart is a Qualified Health Information Network (QHIN)-meaning the work you do directly contributes to nationwide healthcare interoperability.

This role is designed for new graduates and those who are excited about backend development, object-oriented programming, and learning through real-world impact.

What You'll Work On

  • Backend development primarily using object-oriented programming principles
  • Designing, building, and supporting APIs that integrate multiple systems
  • Writing clean, maintainable code for scalable SaaS solutions
  • Supporting and troubleshooting real production issues to build deep platform knowledge
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Gaining exposure to clinical and financial healthcare workflows
  • Participating in code reviews, testing, and root cause analysis
  • Contributing across the full software development lifecycle (design deploy)

Structured Learning & Mentorship

We invest heavily in early career engineers.

  • Clearly defined, structured onboarding during your first two weeks
  • Hands-on exposure through support cases to understand how Carefabric works end-to-end
  • Ongoing mentorship from experienced software engineers
  • Opportunities to grow technical confidence, independence, and system-level thinking

This role is ideal for someone who is a quick learner, adaptable, and eager to take ownership as they grow.
