In this role, you will play a key part in designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and production plants, supporting operations from pilot scale through full commercial production. You will provide technical leadership and work closely with crossfunctional and global teams to deliver safe, efficient, and highquality manufacturing solutions that support Novonesis' business goals.

The Role & Your Impact

As a Process Engineer, you will lead and support multiple engineering projects while ensuring strong engineering and project management practices are applied. You will contribute directly to improving production performance, reducing cost of goods, strengthening supply chains, and enhancing product quality.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing preliminary project scope, engineering concepts, and project plans for new or modified bioprocesses, including initial cost and benefit estimates

  • Preparing, maintaining, and being accountable for basic engineering packages such as process flow diagrams (PFDs), mass balances, P&IDs, equipment lists, and preliminary equipment specifications

  • Leading and supporting engineering projects from concept development through implementation and startup

  • Working closely with plant operations to troubleshoot process and equipment issues and implement effective solutions

  • Interacting with thirdparty partners, including equipment vendors, EPC contractors, and industry consultants

  • Participating in and leading HAZOPs, risk assessments, and process risk identification and mitigation activities

  • Providing handson startup support and delivering technical training to operators for new equipment and process technologies

  • Supporting technology transfer and scaleup of new processes from R&D or pilot development into manufacturing

  • Monitoring and analyzing process trends using statistical tools to ensure processes remain within control limits and to identify root causes of variation

  • Leading crossfunctional technical issues to resolution through strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and decisionmaking

  • Supporting and leading continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

  • Developing, documenting, and sharing engineering best practices across the organization

  • Providing technical oversight of manufacturing operations and coordinating technical activities for assigned products or process areas

  • Performing other duties as needed to support business and operational objectives

What You'll Need to Be Successful

To succeed in this role, you bring strong technical expertise, project leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

We expect you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biological Sciences, or a related technical discipline

  • Relevant experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or bioprocessing environments, with demonstrated success leading technical projects

  • Experience working in fermentation and bioprocessing environments

  • Strong knowledge of process design, scaleup, and manufacturing operations

  • Proficiency with engineering and data analysis tools such as spreadsheets, databases, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks

  • Working knowledge of project management principles

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problemsolving skills

  • Ability to provide technical guidance, training, or mentoring to engineers, interns, or project team members

  • Travel up to 10%, including domestic and international locations

Compensation & Benefits

Expected Pay: $68,050-$93,569
