Service Shop Tech Leaderman (ED-216) (2834)

Job purpose

The Service Tech Leaderman will assist the Service Manager in scheduling the work that is to be performed in the shop or field. The service Technician leaderman will have a hands-on approach, manage and provide assistance to service technicians with trouble shooting, provide technical guidance in repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines.

Duties and responsibilities

• Assist the service manager with supervisory duties
• Able to work alone on engine / compressor packages or engine / generator packages
• Perform all work associated with gas compressor revamp
• Delegate assignments to other personnel
• Assist in the office in the day to day activities as back up for the Service Manager
• Promote good welfare among the company and its divisions
• Ensure mechanics are working and practicing safe and approved work habits
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of previous experience as a Service Technician Leaderman
• Must have a GED, High School Diploma, accredited trade school and applied certifications for above job preferred.
• Certification in WED VHP technology and VGF technology preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business
• Must have advance troubleshooting skills
• Understand electric engine controls
• Understand engine governing systems including electronic controls
