Step into a hands-on role with the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Bureau of Education and Training as a Custodial Worker 1. This position allows you to take pride in keeping the PSP Academy buildings and grounds in top condition. Your work will support the health, comfort, and readiness of everyone on site. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position helps maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout PSP Academy buildings and surrounding areas. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- General Cleaning: Clean offices, classrooms, dorm areas, hallways, and stairways while moving furniture and checking lighting
- Restroom Care: Clean restrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas and restock bathroom supplies
- Equipment Use: Operate and maintain cleaning machinery and related equipment
- Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in assigned building and facility spaces
- Emergency Response: Support duties outlined in the department continuity of government (COG) plan during activated incidents
- Supply Handling: Unload and handle supplies needed for custodial tasks

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work the first weekend of Cadet Class arrivals.
- Irregular Schedule: You may work a flex schedule that is not core hours. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes).

- You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
