DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
This role focuses on operating vehicles and equipment that support residents and daily facility operations. The work contributes to safe transportation, timely deliveries, and reliable facility support services. As a Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:
- Vehicle Operation: Operate passenger cars, vans, buses, and other vehicles to transport residents and materials
- Safety Checks: Complete inspections and verify safety devices and equipment before each trip
- Material Transport: Move supplies, mail, samples, and goods on local and long distance routes
- Maintenance Support: Perform minor repairs and preventive upkeep and assist mechanics with major repairs
- Facility Tasks: Help with loading, unloading, cleaning work areas, and maintaining logs and paperwork
- Tool Use: Use hand and power tools properly while following all safety rules

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a flexible schedule. You will work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
