HR MANAGER 1 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH HEALTH RELATED BOARDS NASHVILLE, TN Annual Salary: $78,528.00 - $124,356.00 Closing Date: 05/18/2026

This is a hybrid position allowing remote and in-office work at the Nashville office.

Job Overview:

This position serves as the HR Manager 1 for the Division of Health Licensure & Regulations (HLR). The position is responsible for the oversight of classification, compensation, employee relations, and administrative tasks for HLR board staff, board attorneys and paralegals. This role supervises one (1) Human Resources Analyst 2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the divisions liaison to TDH Human Resources to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions and other human resources related tasks.
  • Monitors disciplinary matters involving the division throughout the grievance process.
  • Provide accurate information on grievance procedures and opportunities to improve performance for employees facing possible disciplinary actions between employee and management. Ensures the division follows EEO and Title VI guidelines.
  • Oversee employees performance, provide guidance and support, identify development needs, and manage the relationship between staff and the division so that each is successful.
  • Conducts specific training for agency employees to comply with departmental, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, processes, and procedures, facilitating change, and improving initiatives.
  • Reviews current departmental, state, and federal information sources to identify changes in policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and best practices to ensure they are knowledgeable on the latest systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to three years of professional human resources work.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional human resources experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years. OR Three years of professional general human resources experience with the State of Tennessee.
