Job Description

Lenovo is seeking highly motivated earlycareer researchers (PhD graduates) to join our advanced intelligent computing team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of nextgeneration computing architectures, with a strong focus on LLM (Large Language Model) inference acceleration, domainspecific architectures (DSA), and AI systems innovation.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who are passionate about cuttingedge AI and hardwaresoftware codesign, and who want to see their research translate into realworld, commercial products used globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the architectural design and development of domainspecific architectures (DSA) for AI and LLM inference systems, including ownership of key technical modules and subsystems
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional engineering, research, and product teams to translate advanced research concepts into practical, scalable solutions
  • Monitor emerging technology trends in intelligent computing, AI acceleration, and nextgeneration architectures, and contribute innovative ideas for future products
  • Partner with Lenovo global (ROW) teams and international stakeholders to understand product requirements, support collaboration opportunities, and enable technology commercialization
  • Contribute technical insight and exploratory research that helps build Lenovo's longterm technology roadmap and competitive differentiation
  • Document designs, experiments, and recommendations clearly to support knowledge sharing across teams
  • Ideal Start Date: June 1, 2026 (with some flexibility)

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field
  • Strong academic or research background in one or more of the following areas:
    • Computer architecture or domainspecific architectures
    • AI/ML systems, including LLM inference or acceleration
    • Hardware/software codesign
    • Intelligent or highperformance computing
  • Experience gained through coursework, research, internships, or projects in systemlevel design and implementation
  • Solid programming skills in at least one language such as C/C++, Python, or similar
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and communicate ideas clearly in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Handson experience with AI accelerators, GPUs, NPUs, or related compute platforms
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks, compilers, or inference optimization techniques
  • Experience working on research projects with realworld or productoriented outcomes
  • Interest in technology commercialization or exposure to industry collaboration
  • Experience collaborating with global or crossregional teams
