POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains plumbing systems and related equipment for assigned projects.

Base hourly rate of $28/hr - $37/hr

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Facilitates positive interactions with customers by resolving questions and concerns to satisfaction.
  • Assembles pipe sections, tubings, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and/or welding equipment.
  • Fills pipes or plumbing fixtures with water and observes pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  • Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine work details, sequence, and procedures.
  • Locates and marks the position of pipe installations, connections, penetrations, and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
  • Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipe using hand power tools or machines.
  • Cuts openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
  • Hangs steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.
  • Repairs plumbing, replaces defective washers, mends broken pipes, and opens clogged drains.
  • Installs underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems.
  • Inspects, troubleshoots, & diagnoses plumbing systems & equipment,such as water heaters, booster & recirc pumps, mixing valves, and materials to identify the cause of errors, safety hazards, or other issues, and solutions or escalates them appropriately.
  • Facilitates knowledge transfer and teaches trade skills to less experienced tradespeople.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:



      • This position operates primarily in the field. Jobsite work is likely to entail varying exposure to weather, potentially harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, noise, dangerous machinery, and/or other conditions typically associated with a live construction site.
      • Depending on the work location, the incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise, poor ventilation/lighting, and other hazards or conditions typically associated with a construction job site.

        TRAVEL:



        • This position may be required to travel between jobs on a periodic basis as needed.


        MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



        • Graduation from high school, vocational school, or training equivalent.
        • 5+ years of mechanical contracting and service plumber experience.
        • Must be drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of service plumbing procedures.
        • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google products.
        • Demonstrated understanding of the use of related tools, such as snakes, scopes, , cameras, pro-press & mega press systems, & jetting equipment.
        • Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions under limited supervision and identify general safety hazards.
        • Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.
        • General knowledge of the hazards of the trade and necessary precautionary measures.
        • Willingness and ability to work nights and overtime on an as-needed basis.
        • Capacity to leverage leadership skills to facilitate learning, teamwork, and collaborative relationships.
        • Must be fluent and able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
        • Must have a valid driver's license.
        • Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company.


                    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



                    • Rigging and Signaling Certification.
                    • Forklift Certification.
                    • Aerial and Scissor Lift Certification.
                    • Completed OSHA 30-Hour Training.
                    • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
                    • Backflow Certification. (Will be trained if not certified or current certification is inactive.)
