OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to serve as an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer II in our Aiken, South Carolina office. This position supports Nuclear Services and Technology (NST) projects related to Department of Energy (DOE) work. Other projects may include industrial power generation, particularly within generation facilities such as coal, combined cycle, and simple cycle gas turbines, hydroelectric, wind and solar generation. This is a direct position with Merrick & Company. A hybrid work schedule will be supported.

Annual pay range for this position is $83,500.00 - $108,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Electrical engineering for Nuclear Materials handling equipment.
  • Electrical engineering for installation of Nuclear Science Scientific Instrumentation.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
  • Use good judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work.
  • Receive guidance when necessary on unconventional and/or complex problems, direction on modified techniques and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Four (4) to seven (7) years of Electrical I&C experience.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
  • Emerging experience with application of National Electrical Code.
  • Emerging experience in Electrical Calculation Software.
  • Ability to work with other electrical engineers and designers on concurrent projects.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous U.S. Department of Energy experience a plus.
