Recreational Therapist - PRN Post Acute Inpatient Rehab

Position Summary:

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recreational Therapist to join our post-acute inpatient rehabilitation team. In this role, you will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide therapeutic recreation that supports our patients in achieving their highest level of functional independence.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement therapeutic recreational programs tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create holistic patient care plans.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.



Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in a rehabilitation setting is required; internship experience with a concentration in rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Certification: Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) is required.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills for problem-solving, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors courteously and tactfully.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift/carry objects weighing 11 to 20 pounds.
  • Capability to push/pull non-motorized equipment over 50 pounds.
  • Comfort with transferring patients and using proper body mechanics for patient assistance.


Work Environment:

The role is primarily based in a clinical setting, with occasional opportunities to attend events or activities off-campus.

Salary Range: Minimum $32.00/hour - Maximum $32.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
