Shipping and Kitting Operator - Manufacturing & Production Support (Temp Role)

Location: Acton, MA

Pay Rate: $23.00/hour

Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

We are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping and Kitting Operator to support a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. This is a hands-on warehouse role responsible for material handling, kitting operations, and supporting production workflow in compliance with FDA and cGMP standards.

This position requires a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and efficiency in a regulated environment. Candidates must be comfortable standing for the full shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform kitting room operations including material issuance, preparation, and delivery to production
• Execute accurate ERP transactions (Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar system) for all material movements
• Operate warehouse systems, printers, computers, and related equipment as trained
• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas at all times
• Perform material handling using pallet jacks and other transport equipment (training provided)
• Assist with material preparation tasks such as raw material processing and support activities
• Complete end-of-shift cleanup, including workstation organization and waste removal
• Communicate shift handoff updates and production issues clearly to incoming staff
• Follow all safety procedures and ergonomic lifting practices
• Support inventory cycle counts, stocking, and general warehouse duties
• Assist other departments as needed (warehouse, shipping, receiving, packaging)
• Participate in training, team meetings, and continuous improvement activities

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ year of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment preferred
• Ability to read work instructions and communicate effectively in English
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Comfortable standing and moving for the full 8-hour shift

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and work for up to 8 hours per shift (no sitting)
• Ability to lift and move up to 30-50 lbs. regularly
• Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching (above shoulder and below waist)
• Safe operation of manual and electric pallet jacks
