Description
Serving as a member of the medical care management team, the Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care across the continuum of acute care services to patients who are in house on the Urology service. Act as a liaison between nursing staff, residents, and physicians to provide effective and consistent patient care. Coordinate patient admissions. Perform daily rounds on all Urology inpatients, chart orders, coordinate consultants. Perform and document comprehensive history and. physical examinations on all inpatients. Accurately interprets all diagnostic data and formulates a plan of care in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team. Provide appropriate pharmacological management independent follow-up care, assessment and problem solving. Provide patient education for disease process, pre/post operative procedures and outcomes. Dictate consultation notes, discharge summaries, and letters re patient care. Screen telephone calls from patients and families regarding care. Participate in lectures, neurosurgical rounds, conferences and workshops. Assist with thedevelopment of research protocols, investigations, and clinical trials as requested. Provide administrative support for physicians: assist with development of critical care pathways and protocols. Development and implementation of progressive information technology alternatives in the inpatient setting. Salary range: $93.81-$133.97/hourly Qualifications
