Montefiore Einstein Health System is a major university-based healthcare network in New York, comprising three tertiary care hospitals, a renowned children's hospital, and an extensive network of regional affiliates and outpatient clinics. Its Transplant Center of Excellence offers comprehensive solid organ transplant programs, including adult and pediatric liver, kidney, and heart transplantation; pancreas and lung transplantation; and living donor liver and kidney programs. With a legacy of innovation dating back to 1967, the program is among the earliest transplant centers in the United States. Milestones include performing New York's first pancreas transplant in 1972 and establishing the nation's first dedicated pediatric dialysis unit. Today, the kidney transplant program performs more than 230 transplants annually across adult and pediatric populations. The center also supports a robust multi-organ transplant infrastructure, with strong collaboration across heart, lung, and liver programs. Outcomes reported to SRTR consistently exceed national benchmarks, and the program is recognized regionally for its proactive and progressive organ acceptance practices. The faculty includes nationally recognized transplant specialists, supported by a dedicated HLA laboratory and a strong academic environment. The Division of Transplant Surgery performs a broad range of procedures, including transplant and non-transplant operations such as living donor nephrectomy and general surgery in dialysis patients. The Transplant Center is supported by an integrated leadership structure that includes physician leadership, medical and surgical directors, living donor program directors, and senior administrative leadership, along with dedicated teams for quality, marketing, practice management, and finance. The main transplant hospital features a dedicated inpatient transplant unit staffed by specialized physician assistants. The program also includes an accredited ASTS transplant fellowship. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical expertise in kidney and pancreas transplantation, along with strong leadership and operational acumen. Applicants should have a proven record of academic achievement and a minimum of five years of post-fellowship experience. Appointment and academic rank within the Department of Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in living donor nephrectomy and pancreas transplantation, and will embrace an assertive and innovative approach to organ utilization. Salary range 450k to 700k based on academic rank and experience, excellent benefits package including LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision, CME.
