Job Summary:

The R&D Finance Manager is a key member of the Finance organization that directly supports our R&D organization. This role works closely across multiple departments and functions. The R&D Finance Manager will support the R&D Finance team in operating expense related forecasting and accounting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for numerous daily accounting activities including, but not limited to, assisting with the monthly accounting R&D close process, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
  • Support the finance team and other stakeholders with the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process. Review departmental budgets and offer feedback and support to budget holders.
  • Review/conduct variance analysis and partner with R&D teams to accurately project spend.
  • Support contract review and full procure to pay cycle for R&D agreements.
  • Assist the finance group and other key personnel with the ongoing transition to a new budgeting platform.
  • Communicate with departments and vendors as needed to ensure all invoices are processed and that all financial information is accurate at the end of each month.
  • Assist with developing and preparing quarterly audit & forecast schedules.
  • Other ad-hoc research, data analysis, department financial planning or LRP projects as needed.


Knowledge and Other Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's in accounting required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • 5+ years minimum relevant experience or at least 3+ years Big 4 public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel required.
  • Prior life sciences or software industry public company experience preferred.
  • Able to extract pertinent data from ERP system or other sources to support above duties, comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Passionate about business excellence and continuous improvement in processes.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity - must be able to represent and model integrity within the organization. Must possess and maintain the highest degree of security and confidentiality of information.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $100,000 to $125,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

You also will be able to participate in a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k company match, company paid life insurance and health and wellness benefits. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company's discretionary annual bonus program.
