What to Expect
The Tesla Bot Actuator Team is at the forefront of designing and building high-performance electromechanical actuators for the Tesla Bot humanoid robot program. This role is pivotal in assembling cutting-edge rotary and linear actuator systems, contributing to the creation of the most torque and power-dense humanoid actuators in the world. Joining this team means collaborating closely with manufacturing and design engineering to provide critical feedback for improving assembly processes and product design. This position requires a proactive individual with hands-on experience in mechanical or electromechanical system assembly, capable of working independently and thriving in a dynamic, innovative environment.
What You'll Do
- Assemble actuators on a prototype assembly line using manual and semi-automated equipment such as pressing tools and torque tools
- Conduct end-of-line testing of actuators to ensure functionality and performance on the prototype assembly line
- Perform basic measurements of mechanical and electrical components and subsystems to verify specifications
- Utilize analytical problem-solving skills to conduct root cause analysis and document build issues or deviations
- Read and interpret assembly process instructions, engineering drawings, and metric/imperial tolerances to execute tasks accurately
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, reliability, and test engineers to resolve technical issues and enhance product design
- Provide actionable feedback to engineering teams on process and design improvements to boost efficiency and quality
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing assembly of mechanical or electromechanical systems
- Associate degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends based on company needs
- Comfort working in an industrial environment, primarily indoors
- Proficiency in MS Office tools including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence, or familiarity with 3D printing for tooling and fixtures, considered a plus

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
