| Position Summary |
This Food Service Supervisor II will work in the dining hall, banquet rooms, or with off-site catering/concessions as assigned. Work involves the supervision of food production staff in the preparation of foods, line serving staff, dish-room staff in the serving of food and maintenance and cleaning of facilities. The employee in this position is responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of their food service unit. Work is performed under general supervision of Dining Commons Manager II on and is evaluated by observation and in terms of customer reaction. |
| Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Considerable knowledge of foods and their preparation and of the uses and care of kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils
- Considerable knowledge of health hazards relating to food preparation and service and of effective precautionary measures
- Knowledge of large-scale meal service both buffet and plated meals
- Ability to plan work schedules, to assign personnel, and supervise the work of subordinates in a manner conducive to full performance while maintaining morale
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and patrons
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions
- Ability to communicate ideas to employees and respond to routine requests for information
- Serve Safe food service manager certification obtainable.

- Supervise employees in the general cleaning of windows, vents, waxing and stripping floors and equipment.
