THE POSITION

This position focuses on providing direct care and treatment services in order to maintain the overall wellness of customers, ensuring they can successfully complete their vocational training.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for implementing physicians' plan of care by coordinating prescribed orders for students, coordinating weekly admissions, developing wellness programs, and coordinating Wellness Center activities. Work involves investigating problems and complaints that may occur during activities and informing your supervisor of the situation. You will have the opportunity to participate in staffings, committee meetings, and staff development programs to enhance your professional competence. You will also be responsible for:

  • Compiling reports
  • Administering medications
  • Completing customer assessments
  • Assisting with orientation of new employees
  • Arranging for consultations with other healthcare specialists
  • Collecting specimens

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work schedule includes two shifts, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch, rotating off days, includes weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  • Note: Occasional overtime is required. This position is NOT eligible for an alternate work schedule (AWS).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires an active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • Employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

  • If you are within 60 days of graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
