Job Title: Workplace Investigator
Location: California, REMOTE
Employment Type: Contract (3 months)
Industry: Business Process Outsourcing
Compensation: $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
Schedule: 40 hrs/Week.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and conduct thorough, objective, and timely investigations into employee concerns, including misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and policy violations
  • Apply best-in-class investigative practices with strong attention to detail and documentation standards
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions
  • Develop investigation plans, conduct interviews, evaluate evidence, and deliver clear, comprehensive reports
  • Accurately document case activity in Salesforce to ensure data integrity and consistency
  • Escalate complex or high-risk matters and collaborate with Legal, HR, and cross-functional partners
  • Follow proper protocols for evidence collection, preservation, and documentation
  • Support fair, consistent, and compliant resolution of employee relations issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of investigation processes, standards, and workflows
  • Stay current on employment law and workplace investigation best practices

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Active California Private Investigator license (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting workplace or employment investigations
  • Strong experience handling sensitive and complex employee relations matters, including de-escalation
  • Solid understanding of employment law and investigative procedures
Preferred:
  • AWI-CH designation preferred; California law license is a plus
