Research Scientist Sr Job Responsibilities:
Provides scientific and operational leadership for investigator-initiated trials (IITs) in exercise oncology, including protocol design, regulatory strategy, and study implementation across the cancer care continuum. Oversee the strategic development and operations of an exercise oncology research lab, including integration with clinical services, research infrastructure, and multidisciplinary collaborations. Disseminates research findings through high-impact manuscripts, conference presentations, and stakeholder engagement, establishing national visibility in exercise oncology. Develop applications for grant submissions (e.g., foundation, federal, and philanthropic sources) to support a growing portfolio of exercise oncology and supportive care research. - Devises strategies to deal with issues or problems detected during the implementation of protocols, communicates recommendations with the site staff, and if appropriate, assists the site in the implementation of the recommended solutions to these issues on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborates with the research staff in the development of data collection forms, the preparation of the research and clinical data collected, and the management of such data in preparation for data analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Ph.D., ScD. or equivalent in Biological Science, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Science, Physiology, Public Health, or a closely related field. Experience: Four (4) years Postdoctoral research experience by the above techniques.
Preferred Requirement:
- Certification: ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or Exercise Physiologist (EP).
- Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP)
- NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
