Responsibilities:

DIET AIDE I:

  • Supports the organization's vision and values while participating in team meetings, trainings, and qualityassurance activities such as food monitoring, temperature checks, plate presentation, and diet compliance.
  • Provides excellent customer service during meal assembly and delivery, using CARES behaviors and Customer Loyalty Bundle steps.
  • Follows all hospital, departmental, state, and JCAHO policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a communication link between food service, patients, and dietitians.
  • Maintains sanitation and quality standards, including completing required logs and records.
  • Uses kitchen equipment as needed and operates the dishwasher to ensure all items are cleaned properly.

DIET AIDE II:

  • Support the Organizations Vision, Values, & Strategies.
  • Serve as the department's customer relations personnel.
  • Participate as a active team member for the department.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures established by various hospital, departmental, environmental, State and JCAHO regulations.
  • Serve as the department's quality assurance personnel in regard to food monitoring.
  • Act as information liaison between patients and dietitians.
  • Record patient preference for meal preparation.
  • Instruct production as to the specific item and quantity of each food item to prepare.

Qualifications:

DIET AIDE I:

  • Minimum one year's experience in food service or customer service
  • High School or GED
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and provide strong customer service. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all onboarding requirements.

DIET AIDE II:

  • Minimum one year's food service experience or customer service.
  • High School or GED
  • One to three years' experience working in a healthcare food service environment is preferred.
  • One to two years college level courses in nutrition can be substituted for healthcare food service experience.
