Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Sr. Manager, Product Management in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

General Summary:

Owns the strategic direction and overall business performance of assigned aerospace product lines, including market strategy, pricing, portfolio management, and profitability. Leads and develops a team of product management professionals while driving cross-functional initiatives to expand market share, increase revenue and strengthen profitability across manufacturing sites. Partners with sales, engineering, operations and supply chain leadership to align product strategy with customer demand, manufacturing capabilities and long-term business objectives across global aerospace platforms and customer programs. Provides market intelligence, competitive analysis and product roadmap leadership to support sustainable growth and strengthen the company's competitive position within aerospace and adjacent markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and develops a team of product management professionals responsible for the commercial performance and strategic direction of assigned aerospace product families
  • Develops and executes product strategies, including portfolio positioning, value-based pricing frameworks and commercialization plans to drive revenue growth and long-term profitability
  • Analyzes product line financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and product mix; recommends actions to improve commercial performance and long-term portfolio health
  • Partners with engineering, operations, finance, and sales leadership to ensure alignment between product strategy, manufacturing capabilities and customer requirements across global aerospace platforms and customer programs
  • Coordinates with manufacturing sites to ensure product strategies align with operational capabilities, capacity planning and long-term production requirements
  • Identifies and evaluates accretive product opportunities through market analysis, competitive intelligence and customer engagement; prepares business cases and strategic proposals for management review
  • Leads the cross-functional development and launch of new products, including evaluation of technical feasibility, cost structures, market demand and long-term profitability potential
  • Establishes pricing strategies and policies for assigned product lines, ensuring alignment with value delivered, competitive dynamics and business profitability objectives
  • Develops and maintains structured pricing frameworks, including automated price lists, pricing governance processes and pricing analytics to support consistent value-based pricing across product families
  • Monitors product performance across the lifecycle, identifying opportunities to improve revenue, profitability, operational efficiency and customer value
  • Maintains close engagement with key aerospace customers and outside sales teams to monitor market trends, program developments and evolving customer requirements
  • Facilitates site-level revenue planning and develops market outlooks in conjunction with the commercial organization to support business planning and capacity planning across product lines
  • Provides strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding product portfolio investment, market expansion opportunities and long-term growth initiatives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, supply chain, and/or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product management, commercial strategy, or related business roles, preferably within aerospace or industrial manufacturing
  • Minimum 2 years of leading a team with direct reports
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or related) preferred
  • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing environments, including production processes, cost structures, and capacity planning considerations
  • Experience developing and implementing value-based pricing strategies, structured price lists, and pricing governance frameworks across product portfolios
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate market opportunities and competitive positioning, supporting business cases and strategic proposals for new products or portfolio investments
  • Experience supporting annual revenue planning, market size projection, and product portfolio investment decisions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, supply chain, and sales to align product strategies with manufacturing capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into actionable commercial insights
  • Experience managing product lifecycles, including new product introductions, portfolio optimization, and long-term profitability evaluations
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex business and technical concepts to customers, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools, including pivot tables, pivot charts and price modeling
  • Ability to query, extract, and analyze data from enterprise databases and reporting systems using SQL to support pricing analysis, product performance evaluation, and commercial decision-making.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, data warehouses, or business intelligence tools to develop pricing models, product performance dashboards, and commercial analytics
  • Exercises sound business judgement independently while applying strategic thinking to complex commercial decisions
  • Applies in-depth business, technical, and analytical skills to identify gaps and drive business results - serves as expert in a selected discipline

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work on site in Torrance, California and Fullerton, California. This role is Hybrid with remote work available on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% locally
