The Assistant Controller is responsible for leading the day-to-day accounting function, including ownership of the month-end close process, financial reporting, and direct management of the accounting team. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial results and serves as the operational leader of accounting within the organization.

The Assistant Controller ensures accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial processes while collaborating closely with senior finance leadership on technical accounting, audit, and financial reporting matters. This role plays a key part in strengthening the company's financial infrastructure to support continued growth and scalability, and partners closely with FP&A to support internal and external reporting needs while providing meaningful visibility into financial results and processes across the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the month-end and year-end close process, including timelines, coordination, and quality of deliverables
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Execute and maintain internal controls, identifying and addressing process gaps.
  • Lead the execution of external audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and coordination with auditors.
  • Research and apply accounting guidance (including ACS 350 and 842), escalating complex or judgmental matters.
  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A and business leaders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • BA/BS in Accounting; CPA required.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years of people management.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including hands-on experience with ASC 606 in a SaaS
  • environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive accountability.
  • Experience with ERP systems and process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong excel proficiency.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgement.
