THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Insurance Department's (PID), Licensing Services Division is searching for an Insurance License Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations. This position gives you the opportunity to collaborate with peer divisional staff to administer licensing programs that promote professionalism and competency in the marketplace. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Insurance License Coordinator, you will be managing a complex licensing and education compliance program to ensure efficient processing of applications and adherence to federal and state regulations. You will be responsible for providing oversight of daily operations, including setting priorities, monitoring workloads, and ensuring deadlines are met. Work involves performing full supervisory duties to support accurate and timely licensure processing, while also coordinating with IT and vendors to resolve system issues and implementing enhancements. Effective communication is essential as you will be interpreting and communicating laws and policies to staff, licensees, stakeholders, and the public. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining application materials and guidance documents
  • Collaborating with executive leadership and legal staff to recommend policy improvements
  • Representing the department at meetings and conferences
  • Responding to legislative and public inquiries
  • Managing records and electronic filing systems
  • Providing testimony in formal proceedings as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
