Job Description




As a Security Officer Patrol in New Haven, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a respected cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. In this dynamic location, you will support daily operations through strong communication, teamwork, and integrity while contributing to a caring, reliable, and innovative environment that puts people first.

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures and supporting access control activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details through appropriate communication channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, public areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help identify and report security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help support site rules, visitor flow, and authorized access procedures.
  • Assist with emergency response activities, crowd management, and/or special event support as directed by site leadership and Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
