Job Description

The primary role of the Facilities Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer is to participate within an Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs. This position supports all Manufacturing Engineering functions for North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine, and transmission programs.


Main responsibilities include:



  • Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
  • Understand engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration
  • Support and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget
  • Support all New Model (NM) program's facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
  • Support flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
  • Support facilities operations regulatory compliance to ensure completion. (lifting certifications, Fire suppression systems, pressure vessel certifications)
  • Support facilities operations by maintaining plant layouts.
  • Support launch activities by ensuring installations are completed per Stellantis specifications.
  • Participate in the implementation of Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
  • Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure.
  • Support Manufacturing Plants located in Kokomo, Indiana (IN); Transmission Plants in Kokomo and Tipton, Indiana (IN); Casting Plants in Kokomo, Indiana (IN)
  • Drive standardization for the Kokomo Engine Plant
  • Lead procurement, design, build, install, qualification of facilities and process supporting equipment and infrastructure

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related field of study
  • Ability to work and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and present data to all levels of the company in easily understandable formats
  • Ability to implement Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) principles and ability to lead effectively in a bargaining unit environment
  • Demonstrated abilities to plan and execute large scale projects in time and budget
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation in easily understandable formats
  • Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closure
  • AutoCAD and Microsoft Office intermediate or advanced knowledge required


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Engineering or other related field of study
  • 5 or more years manufacturing experience; Powertrain Manufacturing experience a plus
  • 5 or more years' experience in program management or multi-tasking environment
  • Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning a plus
  • High demonstration of leadership and teamwork characteristics
