SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bridge between R&D, Engineering and Production teams to develop, implement and maintain processes, designs, sources, and schedules. Design, integrate, and improve manufacturing processes, systems, tools, and fixtures. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Manage Engineering Change Order (ECO) process and improvements. Support technical writing to improve documentation of production and testing processes. Apply the five lean thinking principles (value, value stream, flow, pull, and perfection) to processes and operations through various lean tools in order to increase profit, automate non-value added activity, increase value added activity, and reduce pure waste, overhead, lead time, and development time.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Review Engineering Change Orders and coordinate design/implementation with Engineering and Production Departments
  • Review product designs and documentation for manufacturability and/or completeness
  • Support technical writing to provide documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used
  • Coordinate training of production personnel in new or existing methods
  • Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts
  • Develop reliability test protocols on critical parts and assemblies

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General knowledge and understanding of Hysitron products and processes
  • Ability to work with members of management, engineers and technicians in a professional manner
  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations)
  • The ability to work on project teams with technicians, technologists, analysts, administrative staff, or other engineers
  • Time management in the context of balancing your workload and other projects.
  • SolidWorks CAD software and Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM)
  • Hands on experience with machining, CNC equipment and various material processing techniques
  • Ability to build or modify functional prototype parts and products
  • Microsoft Outlook, Office 365, SharePoint, Visio
  • SAP material master, BOM and supplier management experience is a plus
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (Preferred)

Related certificates, licenses, and awards for using Microsoft Office, Solidworks, or others for safety, documentation, product development, design, fabrication, manufacturing, business, etc. are a plus.

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $51,000 and $91,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
