This is a hybrid role in Denver, CO. Responsibilities:
- Own and architect electrical platforms and product architectures across programs, ensuring scalability, performance, safety, and longterm sustainability.
- Serve as lead Electrical Engineer on critical programs, driving feasibility studies, research, prototyping, supplier engagement, schematic capture, PCB strategy, and coordination with external test houses.
- Define longterm electrical and systems technology strategy, driving innovation across multidisciplinary platforms and influencing product roadmaps to align technical direction with business and portfolio objectives.
- Lead architecture and design of complex systems, including power, RF, mixedsignal, and energydelivery subsystems, with emphasis on EMC, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish and govern testing standards, methodologies, and lab capabilities, including defining required test equipment and ensuring technical rigor and consistency across programs.
- Oversee risk management, reliability, and robustness strategies across multiple platforms, guiding systemlevel tradeoffs and mitigation of technical and regulatory risk.
- Provide senior technical leadership and governance, leading major design reviews and serving as a trusted advisor for project planning, prioritization, scope, and architectural decisions.
- Ensure global regulatory and documentation alignment, mentoring teams on standards, FDA expectations, audits, documentation governance, PLM strategy, and lifecycle compliance.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent across disciplines, providing advanced technical guidance in electrical design, systems integration, compliance, and structured experimentation.
- Represent Electrical Engineering at the enterprise level, leading crossorganizational collaborations, communities of practice, and influencing multiteam technical execution.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership across complex electrical systems and product platforms OR Master's degree with 8+ years of engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership across complex electrical systems and product platforms.
Other Attributes:
- Extensive experience working in regulated product development environments (e.g., FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 60601).
- Experience providing technical leadership across multiple crossfunctional teams, influencing outcomes at the project, program, or platform level.
- Strong working knowledge of medical device design controls, risk management, and regulatorydriven engineering requirements.
- Experience working in a regulated industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering or closely related technical discipline.
- Lead DFM strategies for PCB fabrication, assembly, lifecycle, and test.
- Govern highquality technical documentation for reviews, validation, and regulatory submissions.
- Apply statistical methods to guide reliability, verification, and risk decisions.
- Lead ECAD-MCAD integration and resolve complex electromechanical system challenges.
- Technical leadership in RF amplifier design, analysis, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Altium Designer
- Familiarity with Windchill
- Familiarity with MATLAB
0-20% Travel Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is $130,654 - $209,980. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
