What You'll Do As an Industrial Project Manager I, you'll plan and deliver low to midsize, multidisciplinary projects-owning scope, schedule, budget, and quality while serving as the primary contact between clients and the SSR design team.
- Lead low to midsize, multidisciplinary industrial projects; own scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Adhere to SSR safety standards and practices; reinforce safety expectations with the team and partners.
- Run project kickoffs; convey scope and deliverables to the design team; confirm scope/requirements with the client and stakeholders in partnership with the Client Relationship Manager (CRM).
- Develop staffing plans and manhour budgets with the Senior PM/CRM/Department Head/Operations Director; assist with estimates for cost and hours.
- Establish schedules with client input; define interim milestones for information flow; adjust plans as conditions change.
- Manage project financials-budgeting, forecasting, and reporting; identify and administer additionalservices fees as needed.
- Implement proactive QA/QC plans; ensure documentation is complete and properly stored throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track risks to quality, schedule, and financial goals; investigate causes and communicate issues with the design team to drive corrective action.
- Supervise closeout-documentation, filings, and project debriefs; capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Actively build technical competency; engage in internal/external training to strengthen discipline expertise.
Who We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Construction, or Civil Engineering and 5 years of relevant working experience with advanced knowledge in mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5 years' experience in project management/execution with an understanding of standard project management processes/procedures
- Experience in working with Food Manufacturing, Chemical, Renewables, Petroleum Clients, construction of mid-size industrial plants, or power stations will be advantageous
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Scheduling, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Understanding of project management practices; general understanding of business practices.
- Thorough knowledge of project financial activities (budgeting, projections, reporting).
- Strong presentation, written communication, technical writing, and speech clarity; active listening and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills to orchestrate multiple activities; sound judgment and decisionmaking; detail orientation.
- Working knowledge of all engineering disciplines practiced by the firm; expert within own engineering discipline.
