Under the direction of the QA Supervisor, this person will set-up and perform a variety of complex mechanical, electrical, and functional tests Must have the ability to perform duties with limited supervision. Lead activities within AS9100, ISO and Lean Manufacturing methodologies. This position will make daily decisions as it pertains to product conformance and process capabilities. Along with that, this position will assist in final decision-making regarding product conformance before usage or shipment. The position will interact with all Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Technical personnel on a daily basis. Interaction with Marketing and Purchasing when required. This position will provide training to lower-level associates and assume other projects and responsibilities as directed.

Job Requirements:


  • Conduct mechanical and electrical testing and inspection/verification to defined specifications for new and existing products, raw material, warranty returns and calibration.
  • Compile and provide test reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in simple test fixture construction for material, product or process analysis.
  • Oversee test fixture construction for material, product and/or process analysis.
  • Participate in supplier and customer audits. Provide technical data as required to support findings.
  • Lead activities within AS9100, ISO and Lean Manufacturing methodologies for problem prevention, identification, and corrective action and verify solutions.
  • Create and maintain routine data collection, entry, and/or reporting to assure product conformance, process capability, or equipment calibration. Train lower level personnel as needed.
  • Set-up and operate a variety of mechanical or electronic measuring equipment, provide support and test procedures for special processes. Create standardized documentation for these special test set-ups. Train lower level personnel as needed.
  • Observe established safe working and housekeeping procedures. Promptly correct and/or notify supervisor of hazardous situations.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as required and assigned.


* Ability to satisfactorily complete and implement all OJT and required trainings.


* Ability to understand the organization structure, businesses, and sites, and applying that knowledge to daily tasks, communications and assignments.


* Interpret and understand engineering drawings.


* Knowledge of statistical concepts (incl. SPC charts) and experience using statistical software. Train lower-level personnel on these concepts and techniques as needed.


* Ability to operate and use complex mechanical electrical or precision measuring equipment. Train lower-level personnel on these concepts and techniques as needed.


* Track / Monitor Department Metrics, post weekly, inform management of negatively trending measurements and record root cause(s). Identify preventive action(s) to be taken to proactively avoid negative trends in the future.


* Ability to apply job knowledge and skills to improve productivity, quality, timeliness and to solve problems using good judgment.


* Ability to implement new technologies or methods as needed.


* Ability to hold sensitive data and information in confidence.


* Ability to understand and implement AS9100, ISO and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.


* Ability to operate equipment and use tools and techniques effectively, efficiently and in accordance with ergonomic principles.


* Proficiency in software as required; ability to perform math calculations, measurement, analysis or reporting as directed.


* Ability to comply with Company policies and procedures.


* Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately orally, in writing or electronically.


* Ability to communicate work goals, progress and changes as required.


* Ability to apply interpersonal skills (empathy, negotiation, rapport, sensitivity), to develop and maintain effective working relationships.


* Ability to demonstrate character, integrity, honesty, ethical behaviors and industriousness.
