We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Project and Proposal Office team. The Project Manager is a key position on projects, working with teams across a range of practice areas to deliver work on budget, to schedule, and within the specifications agreed to with clients.

This role is critical to meeting client expectations and delivering projects in alignment with RTI-HS' strategic objectives.

Project Managers coordinate with internal research and operational teams, external partners, and clients; driving project timelines and addressing issues as they arise. This role requires solid project management skills, such as expertise in negotiation, planning, and the analysis and reporting of financial data. You will need to be proficient with project management tools and approaches, and able to manage their time and priorities. The best PMs develop strong client relationships and build effective partnerships with internal teams and leadership.

In addition to supporting research projects for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients, you will contribute to the ongoing refinement of project management processes, standards, and systems.


What You'll Do

Project Management

  • Manage projects independently and support larger or more complex accounts as needed.
  • Ensure projects run according to established timelines, budgets, scope, and deliverables.

Financial Management

  • Develop, monitor, and reconcile project and account budgets; manage outofscope activities; support forecasts and invoicing; and recommend corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Respond to client requests for budget estimates and support proposal development or contractual processes.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as a primary client contact, maintaining regular communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead or support client and internal status meetings, provide timely updates, and proactively flag risks, issues, or decisions required.

Timeline, Resource, & Capacity Management

  • Drive project timelines and schedules, coordinate internal and external resources, and ensure milestones are met.
  • Balance workload and capacity across teams to ensure projects are appropriately staffed.

CrossFunctional & External Collaboration

  • Work closely with business development, legal, finance, and Medical Communications teams to ensure smooth project execution and alignment on objectives.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and agencies as required.

Quality, Risk, & Issue Management

  • Oversee quality review processes, including scheduling and managing review cycles, to ensure deliverables meet internal and client quality standards.
  • Identify project risks related to scope, timelines, or budget and develop mitigation strategies, support issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.

Process Improvement & Team Support

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.

Business Development Support

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and support new business development efforts, including proposal preparation and participation in pitches.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain project status reports, contact reports, tracking tools, and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support project review and reporting processes through accurate data compilation and analysis.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and budgeting project activities and resources.
  • Demonstrated experience developing project timelines, workplans, tracking tools, spreadsheets, and other project planning materials using tools such as Excel or Smartsheet.
  • Experience using enterprise management systems to enter budget forecasts and generate financial reports (e.g., Deltek Vision or Oracle).
  • Experience working on scientific or researchbased projects, preferably within healthrelated fields.
  • Experience working with confidential information and adhering to data protection and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent).
  • Experience or familiarity with health economics, outcomes research, market access, AMCP dossiers, economic modeling, programming, systematic and nonsystematic literature reviews, epidemiology, and/or patientreported outcomes.
  • Experience supporting ethics or institutional review board (IRB) submissions and familiarity with ethical review processes in the U.S., Europe, or other international settings.

Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States. RTI considers multiple factors when making an offer including, for example: established salary range, internal budget, business needs, and education and years of work experience possessed by the applicant.
