The role

Our team in Weyauwega, WI is looking to bring an Intake Operator I to our day shift operations. Under the direction of a Trainer, this individual will learn how to receive the milk from haulers and truckers, ensure quality of the milk through samples, testing and proper sanitation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Day shift

  • Run antibiotic tests on incoming milk product.

  • Receive in and send out product per planning.

  • Wash out holding tanks and silos.

  • Unload and wash milk trucks per food safety, sanitation requirements.

  • Clean and sanitize product lines.

  • Process all milk slips.

  • Perform necessary quality assurance readings on the product.

  • Complete tasks on the checklist per the Master Sanitation Schedule.

Night shift

  • Load whey and cream trucks.

  • Mix powder for Production team.

  • Wash out holding tanks and silos.

  • Wash different pieces of equipment per food safety, sanitation standards.

  • Clean and sanitize product lines.

  • Complete tasks on Master Sanitation Schedule.

  • Assist in training any new employees as directed by Supervisor.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Attend meetings as directed.

  • Climb onto tanker trucks to gather appropriate samples while adhering to safety standards, including harnessing.

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.

  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.

  • Support safety policies and programs.

Profile sought Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Required:

  • No experience required; in-house training provided.

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • Though not required, a Pasteurization License would be beneficial

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrate attention to detail, quality and cleanliness in work.

  • Follow one- or two-step verbal instructions; read and follow written instructions; perform routine and repetitive tasks and carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or verbal instructions.

  • Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, MSDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).

  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
