The Workday Senior Payroll Systems Specialist manages the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday Payroll and Absence. This role supports payroll operations by ensuring system accuracy, compliance with California wage and hour laws, and efficient processing through system enhancements, reporting and issue solution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

  • Provide expertise on Workday HCM and Absence best practices, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability of the Workday HCM solution. Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the field, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills to drive innovation and improvement within the organization's HCM processes.

  • Translates business requirements into technical specifications that support the design, solutioning, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday HCM Time Tracking & Absence modules.

  • Maintain and configure Workday Payroll and Absence components, including earnings, deductions, pay groups, and business process in lower tenants and work with Digi-IS to support system enhancement and configuration in Production environment.

  • Lead and coordinate system testing for Workday releases, enhacements, and patches.

  • Support end to end payroll processing by troubleshooting system issues, resolving integration errors and ensuring data integrity.

  • Document system configurations, business processes, and standard operating procedures.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize workforce and payroll-related Workday dashboards and reporting.

  • Facilitate client meetings to guide decision-making and drive project milestones.

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, system configuration guides, and data integration guidelines specific to the Workday HCM system.

  • Provides technical support to end-users, resolving issues related to system access, data entry, and report generation within the Workday HCM system.

  • Provide training and guidance to users on how to effectively utilize the Workday HCM system, maximizing its potential for the organization.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications, is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience supporting Workday Payroll and/or Time Tracking.

Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements in California.

Experience with Workday Payroll and Absence configuration and Reporting

Experience supporting payroll systems integrations (UKG/KRONOS)

License/Certification:None

KNOWLEDGE

* Knowledge of payroll systems configuration, payroll structures, and business processes.

* Knowledge of payroll operations of end to end payroll processing.

* Ability to configure earnings, deductions, and payroll related workflows in Workday.

* Knowledge and understanding of HR analytics - with the ability to interpret timekeeping data and translate into actionable insights.

* Ability to create and maintain strong, professional relationships at different levels of organization and build consensus.

* Skilled in effectively handling sensitive and confidential communications and materials.

* Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines.

* Ability to conduct research and analysis, interpret regulations or policies, reach conclusions, and present findings.

* Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and clients, working effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

* Ability to identify, design and administer plans that support hospital strategic goals.

*Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

* Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel (e.g. complex formulas, macros, lookups etc.), PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

* Strong time management and organization skills, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks concurrently.

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $53.98 to $71.57
