What You'll do:

As a Workday Test Lead, you will oversee and drive the end-to-end testing strategy for Workday implementations and enhancements across modules such as HCM and Payroll. You will lead test planning, coordinate testing activities, and ensure alignment with business and technical requirements. In this role, you'll partner with cross-functional teams, manage defect resolution, and guide testing best practices to deliver high-quality, reliable Workday solutions. You will also mentor team members, support UAT efforts, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of software testing across development and maintenance phases, ensuring high-quality deliverables

  • Develop and own comprehensive test strategies, plans, and procedures based on system specifications, user requirements, and technical documentation

  • Coordinate and oversee testing activities, including system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for testing, communicating progress, risks, and results to stakeholders and leadership

  • Review, prioritize, and manage defect tracking and resolution, ensuring timely escalation and closure

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting best practices and consistency in test execution and documentation

  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and testable

  • Identify potential risks, issues, and blockers, proactively developing mitigation strategies and escalating as needed

  • Monitor software quality metrics and drive continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and methodologies

  • Support test data management and environment coordination to ensure effective test execution

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college or university

  • Role requires alignment with Eastern Time zone working hours

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Federal Public Trust

  • At least 4 years of software testing experience, including experience leading testing efforts

  • At least 3 years of HRMS experience (Workday preferred)

  • Workday HCM Certification, or similar Workday foundational certification

  • Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tool

  • Experience developing test strategies, plans, and test cases based on user stories and technical requirements

  • Experience leading or coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Strong understanding of test management and automation tools and processes

  • Experience interpreting requirements and producing high-quality QA documentation (e.g., Test Plans, Test Reports)

  • Experience with accessibility testing, including Section 508 standards

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate testing status, risks, and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to lead workstreams, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in fully remote and/or hybrid teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Federal Government experience

  • Experience in a Test Lead or QA Lead role

  • Public Trust Clearance or higher

  • Trusted Tester Certification

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$136,969.00 - $165,023.00
