You Are:

UST is looking for strong and agile Java backend developers to work on a multi-vendor multi-geo team helping to build a NextGen high scale enterprise application including working with RFID and IOT devices at scale for a retail application.

The opportunity:

* Handle device communication protocols, data exchange, and real-time event processing.

* Ensure high availability and fault tolerance in device interactions.

* Design RESTful APIs for device orchestration and enterprise integration.

* Implement event-driven architecture using Kafka / ActiveMQ for real-time device events.

* Deploy and manage services using Docker/Kubernetes, and Helm.

* Build CI/CD pipelines with automated deployment strategies.

* Work with Cloud services and API Gateway for scalable integrations.

* Develop unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.

* Perform end-to-end validation of hardware-software workflows.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

* Experience with Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana),Logging, ing, and incident management.

* Strong knowledge of SQL, BigQuery, Looker.

* Comfortable working in Linux environments.

* Strong problem-solving abilities, good communication (written & verbal) skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are also important for this role.

* Should be able to articulate past projects and do on the fly troubleshooting/ write logic during evaluation.

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field is required as it is a complex specialized program.

* Must have skills:

* Java 17+, Kafka/ActiveMQ, Docker/Kubernetes,Helm, Mockito, Junit, BigQuery, SQL, Prometheus

* Nice to have:

* Linux, Looker, Grafana

* Skills and experiences:

* 9 plus years of experience with hands on experience in software/system design, development, testing and troubleshooting of complex backend Java programs.

* Strong expertise in Java (17+) and backend development Microservices & REST API design.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Arkansas

Compensation Range : $82,000-$123,000

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
