100% Remote - Palo Alto Engineer * * Duration: 3-6 month contract Pay: $50-$70/hr. Based on experience + qualifications Compliance: Drug Test Required. Background Check Required Top Skills* * 5+ years with the following preferred 1) Strong experience troubleshooting firewall issues with Palo Alto Panorama (v11 & 12) & PA Cloud Manager 2) Solid knowledge of PAN-OS 3) Cisco SWA (Secure Web Appliance), formerly Cisco WSA, experience - support and troubleshooting. Work Environment: 100% remote for contractors. Candidates located in Greensboro, NC or Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area might be eligible to convert full-time if open to working a hybrid schedule in Burlington, NC. Shift: 8am-5p or 9am-6p ET - core business hours. Why is it open? Temporary contract (3-6 months) to backfill 2 team members who are out on leave Description Job Description: Work with a Network Security team that is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of firewall, VPN, and web proxy technologies. Focus on Palo Alto technologies. Responsibilities: * Support: o Palo Alto Firewalls (physical and VM) o Palo Alto Panorama * Diagnose and troubleshoot firewall, proxy, security, and other network-related issues * Work on firewall related access requests and problem tickets * Adhere to change management policies and procedures Qualifications: * Technical expertise of network technologies and architecture * Technical expertise of Palo Alto high availability functionality * Excellent problem determination and resolution * 5+ years of experience as a network administrator or network engineer * 5+ years of focused Palo Alto engineering experience - majority of this work is firewall rule requests and troubleshooting * Cisco Umbrella and WSA/SWA proxy support work - troubleshooting proxy and VPN related issues * Advanced knowledge of VPN, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, UDP, QoS, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS * Solid knowledge of encryption protocols * Advanced knowledge of security best practices * Excellent customer service skills * Excellent written and verbal communication in the English language * Ability to clearly and concisely articulate technical matters to both technical and non-technical audiences * Ability to multitask and work under time constraints Skills Palo Alto, Panorama, PAN-OS, Network Security, Cisco Umbrella, Proxy server, Firewall/intrusion detection, CIsco SWA, Cisco WSA, cisco proxy Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Burlington, NC.
