Job Description

The Fastener Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for fastener components using Siemens NX. This role supports Fastener Engineering activities from concept development through production release by creating accurate design layouts, engineering drawings, and CAD models that meet program requirements and manufacturing constraints.



The Designer works closely with Fastener Engineers and cross functional teams to develop and maintain fastener designs, update CAD models and drawings, and support engineering change activities. Responsibilities include maintaining CAD data within Teamcenter, supporting part creation and release activities, and ensuring alignment with vehicle packaging and assembly requirements.



Additional responsibilities include supporting engineering documentation updates, maintaining drawing standards, and assisting engineers with design modifications, issue resolution, and product lifecycle updates.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:



  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 32 credits toward the completion of an Associate's degree in Automotive Design or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Training or work experience using Siemens NX for 3D solid modeling and 2D drawing creation
  • Basic understanding of vehicles and vehicle assembly processes
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining, stamping)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word


Preferred Qualifications



  • Familiarity with CAD data management systems such as Teamcenter
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
