POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for supporting the Director of Tax in all aspects and is in charge of supporting all tax matters relating to the company and its owners. This role adheres to the Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual (APPM) set by Dominium and maintains professional relationships while communicating regularly with DDA (Dominium Development & Acquisitions) and DMS (Dominium Management Services) staff. Collaboration across teams is essential to accomplish tasks and resolve issues as they arise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Prepares Federal, State, and local partnership (1065) tax returns and supporting work papers for business entities
  2. Prepares individual owner tax return work papers and support overall owner tax reporting
  3. Supports tax planning strategies and initiatives for owners
  4. Collaborates with external CPA firms and oversee consultants as needed
  5. Manages and coordinates responses to tax notices from federal, state, and local authorities
  6. Conducts tax research using federal, state, and third-party resources to support compliance and planning
  7. Ensures compliance with quarterly estimated tax payments, extensions, and required tax filings
  8. Review sales, refinance, and re-syndication waterfalls and coordinate related financial transactions
  9. Supports estate planning activities and specialized tax matters, including Section 1031 exchanges and Opportunity Zones
  10. Assists with self-directed 401(k) investment-related tax matters and reporting
  11. Maintains knowledge of industry-specific tax regulations, partnership taxation, and property transaction tax implications
  12. Performs additional tax-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Tax, CFO, or ownership


QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Training and Experience.)



  • Associates Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of tax accounting experience, preferably with partnership (1065) returns and real estate or multi-entity structures
  • Software/Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar) preferred; familiarity with accounting systems and ERP platforms is a plus What soft skills are needed


PAY: $95,000/year + 10 bonus potential.
