Position Overview

The Retail Operations Specialist is responsible for second level resolution of policies and procedures, monitoring and advising regarding compliance and consistency for all Retail account opening/closing/maintenance/teller processes and procedures, and software application problem resolution (Jack Henry/NewGen), and new product testing. This includes fielding Retail staff questions and issues and providing appropriate resolution, advising regarding ongoing Retail procedural and compliance efforts, and advising on Jack Henry compliance efforts for the Retail Bank.

Essential Job Functions



  • Serves as subject matter expert and provides resolution for Retail Banking-related inquiries including responding to questions including but not limited to Retail account opening and maintenance procedures, business deposit accounts, IRAs, legal issues in regards to trusts, estates, and POA's, Retail compliance, teller procedures and Retail Banking products.
  • Serves as Bancorp expert in the Retail utilization of Jack Henry/NewGen software including advising Retail as to proper procedure as questions arise but also recognizes training needs and proactively advises Retail staff via emails, meetings, and training sessions.
  • Uses independent judgment to recognize Retail competency gaps regarding Retail Banking deposit accounts, procedures, and compliance, and proactively addresses these gaps via emails, meetings, presentations, and/or working with Training and Development on curricula creation and/or changes.
  • Creates proper procedures and documentation for new retail products introduced to the Retail division, including testing Retail software platform to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Enforces consistent application of Retail operational policies and procedures, second level review of deposit holds and other operational related tasks as assigned.
  • Serves as application expert within Jack Henry, Teller XP, and other applicable software for generating reports, compiling data, preparing presentation materials, and maintaining files.
  • Assists in performing required audits as assigned.
  • Assists Training and Development in maintaining appropriate training material and documentation for the Retail division.


Minimum Requirements



  • High school diploma and two or more years of Retail Banking (or related) experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Competencies



  • High level understanding of critical Retail operations issues including deposit compliance, fraud, automated banking systems, and policies and procedures.
  • Quantifiable leadership, communication and consensus building skills.
  • High-level understanding of big-picture Retail operations management and support, including the ability to proactively address issues that affect the bottom line.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Location Details

This position is considered a hybrid role. Location is flexible and may vary depending on site availability and the incumbent's proximity. (With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role. Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs.)

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay: $22.55 - $28.20/hour
