Foley & Lardner is seeking a corporate associate with 4-6 years of relevant experience to join the Transactions Practice Group in our Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Salt Lake City, or Washington, DC office. Foley's nationally integrated Transactions Practice Group principally handles M&A and securities matters for publicly and privately held middle market and upper middle market companies, as well as private equity firms. This role focuses primarily on U.S. and cross-border M&A transactions and is ideal for a "deal runner" who is comfortable overseeing matters with limited supervision and working directly with partners, senior associates, and clients. You will join an energetic, collaborative culture that values character, work ethic, and personal and professional development.
Qualified candidates will have experience representing clients in complex corporate matters, including private equity M&A, mid-market M&A, venture financings, securities, general corporate governance, and other commercial transactions. Early-stage financing experience is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate will bring strong drafting and communication skills, business development aptitude, and excellent interpersonal skills, along with a positive attitude and exceptional work ethic. We value collegiality, creativity, and intellectual curiosity, and we strive to make the practice both professionally and personally rewarding. This is a strong opportunity for an associate looking to build a long-term corporate practice in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while developing meaningful, client-facing relationships at this stage of their career. Strong academic credentials are required. Candidates must hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the bar in the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice; timely admission in the hiring office's state will be a condition of employment. Interested applicants should submit a resume, law school transcript, deal sheet, and cover letter noting office preference. Current judicial clerks need to apply directly and may not be submitted by a legal recruiter. In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is between $290,000 - $390,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Foley offers a comprehensive benefit program which currently includes Medical, Dental and Vision insurance; 401(k) Retirement; Disability and Life insurance; Adoption Assistance; Backup Care for Dependents. Foley & Lardner LLP is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer/Vet/Disabled. | |
