Position Summary: Lead Facilitators lead High and Low Course programs that help participants to obtain goals (problem-solving, leadership, communication, teamwork, etc.) through experiential learning.
This is a temporary, part-time position starting
May 11, 2026 through August 16, 2026. This position reports to the Coordinator, Outdoor Adventures.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Program Leadership: Design and modify team-building programs to meet the specific needs of each group. You will also train, evaluate and supervise a team of facilitators.
- Facilitation & Debriefing: Lead groups through a variety of initiatives, activities, and challenge course elements, facilitating debrief sessions to connect the experience back to their program goals.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct daily course inspections and documentation, enforce all Wellness and Recreation guidelines, and manage group behaviors to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Community Building: Develop professional relationships with colleagues and guests while upholding the core values of Wellness and Recreation, including integrity, teamwork, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Training and Meetings: Attend and assist with delivering 40 hours of initial training to Challenge Course Apprentices and Facilitators, and help instruct them on how to facilitate team-building games and activities. Attend required training and quarterly staff meetings.
- Customer Service: Welcome and greet users and provide information regarding facilities, programs, services and the local area.
- Guideline Enforcement: Understand and enforce Wellness and Recreation and area specific guidelines.
- Risk Management: Knowledge and implementation of emergency action plan.
- Training and Meetings: Attend 40 hours of initial training to learn how to facilitate team-building games and activities. Attend required training and quarterly staff meetings.
- Community: Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants and guests.
- Support: Perform other related duties as needed to support the overall functioning of the Challenge Course and the department.
