Job Summary Reporting to the Facilities Information Systems Manager, the Associate Business Systems Consultant, will be part of a small team responsible for the following:
  • Design, implement, enhance and maintain solutions for Facilities business applications (IWMS AiM, ArcGIS, Power BI models, and other applications.
  • Utilize best business practices, perform tasks such as gathering requirements, identifying/evaluating software and solutions that meet the needs of Facilities and the Campus community.
  • Coordinate, analyze, and develop systems and/or processes, which are cost effective and meet user requirements.
  • Troubleshooting issues within Facilities business applications and working with the Support teams to resolve issues.
  • Working with key technology partners, develop and sustain Caltech's digital twin model and associated management tools, SkySpark, Tandem, etc
Essential Job Duties
  • Provides a full range of Information Systems Services including implementation of new applications/modules, Power BI/SQL programming, user support, data management, and training.
  • Participates in the entire lifecycle of a system which includes but it not limited to, gathering requirements, analyzing, planning, design, configuration, testing, deployment, roll out and maintenance.
  • Works with the customer to facilitate negotiating, and capture requirements for enterprise and/or standalone applications.
  • Creates and modifies software training documentation and works with users to understand Facilities software systems.
  • Independently perform data validation and module testing.
  • Provides consultation to system users on technical and/or functional issues.
  • Analysis of situations or data requires identification, review and interpretation of policies, procedures and practices.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves customer inquiries effectively.
  • Exercises judgement and discretion in applying applicable policies and procedures to situations and significant problems.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least four years of related experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of applications and Power BI/SQL
  • Implementation experience
  • Problem-solving skills and a supportive attitude.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative work style, flexible attitude, ability to adapt gracefully to changes in priorities, assignments, and personnel.
  • Ability to adapt vendor-provided documentation and train customers in the use of software.
  • Ability to take personal initiative and leverage problem-solving skills to figure out how business software functions and how it interfaces with other applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Power BI,SQL or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of business systems and information technology.
  • Knowledge of analysis and documentation of business processes.
  • Some experience in conducting software quality assurance testing.
  • Masters Degree in Business Analytics.

Hiring Range

$49.00 - $57.75 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
