Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Software Engineer with demonstrated expertise in geospatial technologies. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud platform solutions tailored to a variety of industries, including energy, water, and telecommunications. This position requires a deep understanding of software development, geospatial tools, and cloud technologies.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain geospatial software applications.
  • Develop custom tools and extensions for geospatial platforms.
  • Optimize software performance for handling large-scale geospatial datasets and real-time data streams.
  • Work with geospatial data formats such as geoJSON, geodatases, raster data, aerial imagery and sensor data
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy in geospatial applications, particularly for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Design scalable and efficient system architectures for cloud-based geospatial applications.
  • Integrate geospatial software with cloud-based platforms, APIs, and enterprise systems
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of geospatial solutions.
  • Work closely with project managers, designers, and other engineers to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in software development.
  • Explore and implement new tools and techniques to improve cloud and geospatial solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative geospatial products and cloud-based tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geospatial, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud and geospatial technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (specifically AWS) and geospatial APIs.
  • Experience with the design and development of event-driven Microservice architectures and Microservice orchestration (e.g. AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, AWS SAM)
  • Experience with core ArcGIS Enterprise components (Server, Web Adapter, Portal, Datastore)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, SQL.
  • Experience with geospatial libraries and tools (e.g., ArcGIS, GeoServer, PostGIS).
  • Strong understanding of geospatial and raster/image data structures, algorithms, and coordinate systems.
  • Experience building and maintaining Geospatial data pipelines.
  • Experience working with databases and backend feature services (e.g., Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, ArcGIS Server)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Image Server, and ArcGIS Raster Analytics.
  • Experience with machine learning, computer vision, and AI applications in geospatial analysis.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and web mapping frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Node.JS, Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox).
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Esri Utility Network.
  • Experience with open-source GIS tools, frameworks and platforms.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
