Job Description

Primary responsibilities are to coordinate and direct the maintenance activities of the facility through the effective and efficient execution of the scheduled maintenance orders that are developed by the area planners and supervisors.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, supervise, evaluate, and coach assigned maintenance personnel. Actively involved in assessing employee performance.
  • Reviews timecards and approves hourly and salary payroll
  • Assist Engineer(s) and Manager(s) with project planning and contractor supervision on major new equipment installation projects (such as new furnaces, major modifications, upgrades, re-build etc.)
  • Recommend, oversee, and review modifications as needed and recognized.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities of equipment to minimize the possibility of unscheduled failures and to optimize the frequency of these activities.
  • Ensures completion of PM's on a month to month basis
  • Monitors work practices, employee behavior and job performance to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve employee safety.
  • Coordinates departments training activities
  • Ensures completion of PM's on a month to month basis

Education and Experience

  • Four Year Engineering Degree, Technical Degree preferred or related experience in technical role.
  • Ten or more years' experience managing the maintenance function in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Five Years of experience in supervisory position
  • Strong leadership skills; demonstrated competency in the supervisory and technical skills required to fulfill the position's responsibilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with overtime as required; ability and willingness to participate in management coverage on weekends and holidays..
  • Superior SAP skills needed to properly schedule, plan and execute orders.
  • Fiscal and budgetary responsibility to control repair costs and service expenditures.
  • Must possess project management skills needed to manage several projects involving multiple resources simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel & Outlook. PowerPoint & Access optional
