Position Title:Adult Telemetry Manager

Job Description:
The Telemetry Manager provides operational leadership for centralized cardiac monitoring services across the organization, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely surveillance of all telemetrymonitored patients while overseeing the performance and development of monitor technicians and partnering with inpatient nursing units to support care continuity and adherence to monitoring protocols. The Manager is responsible for workflow optimization, regulatory readiness, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance with organizational telemetry policies, supporting clinical operations through realtime problem solving, interdepartmental collaboration, and continuous performance evaluation to uphold high standards of patient safety and monitoring reliability. Oversees daytoday operations of the Telemetry Unit, ensuring continuous cardiac rhythm surveillance in alignment with organizational standards (e.g., EKG interpretation, rate/rhythm documentation, strip printing, and technician audits). Ensures proper telemetry device assignment and verification of patient identifiers; addresses issues such as equipment misassignment or missing equipment. Ensures compliance with organizational Telemetry Policy (e.g., escalation pathways, documentation standards, alarm management, and reporting). Leads quality audits of telemetry documentation; identifies gaps and implements corrective actions, coaching, and system/process improvements. Oversees departmental performance metrics and monitors trends to drive operational excellence. Provides direct supervision of monitor technicians, including performance evaluations, coaching, competency assessment, scheduling, and performance management. Identifies staff development opportunities and leads training, orientation, and ongoing professional growth initiatives. Serves as the primary liaison between Telemetry and inpatient units, promoting workflow efficiency, timely communication, and clinical collaboration. Maintains an environment of professionalism, accuracy, teamwork, and accountability within the Remote Monitoring Unit (RMU). Participates in organizational committees, workgroups, and interdisciplinary initiatives related to patient safety, telemetry monitoring, and clinical quality.
General Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: At least 5 years of related experience that include at least 3 years of progressive leadership experience required. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:
Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. National Telemetry Association Certification OR Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) Certification Required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High proficiency in cardiac monitoring, EKG/arrhythmia interpretation, telemetry systems, and related terminology. Strong leadership and coaching skills with an ability to organize, develop, and supervise a team. Skilled in workflow/process analysis and implementing operational improvements. Ability to develop and maintain high reliability and accuracy in documentation. Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment with continuous monitoring responsibilities requiring multitasking and prioritization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support collaboration across clinical teams.
