General Job Description Job Summary The HVAC Helper will assist HVAC Field Superintendents with the installation and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in the skilled trades, offering hands-on experience and training in residential and light commercial HVAC systems across job sites in the San Antonio, Texas area. Key Responsibilities Assist with the installation of HVAC ductwork, systems, and components under the supervision of a licensed HVAC Field Superintendent. Carry tools and materials to and from job sites, load and unload supplies, and prepare work areas. Clean, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems and job sites for safe and efficient operation. Support in measuring, cutting, and assembling ductwork using hand and power tools. Learn and follow safety procedures and building codes. Ensure tools are properly used, maintained, and returned to storage. Drive company vehicles as needed (if authorized and licensed). Communicate effectively with crew leads and supervisors to coordinate tasks. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 0-2 Specific Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Prior experience in construction, HVAC, mechanical trades, or related field is a plus but not required. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn a skilled trade. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred. Must successfully pass a background screening and any pre-employment requirements. Ability to follow safety procedures, company policies, and job-site regulations. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the day. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and work at heights for extended periods. Ability to work safely in attics, crawl spaces, confined spaces, mechanical rooms, and other restricted-access areas. Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, humidity, dust, noise, and other construction-related conditions. Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all company safety policies and procedures. Sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely operate tools, equipment, and perform assigned job duties.
