Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Reports to: Senior Manager, Human Resources

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day administration of the Human Resources department and serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries. This role assists with onboarding, benefits administration, employee records, and recruitment, helping ensure that HR programs and services are delivered accurately and in a timely manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The primary functions include, but are not limited to:

* Provide information and guidance to employees regarding company policies and benefits

* Coordinate new hire onboarding, offboarding, benefits orientation, and random drug screenings

* Maintain employee records, including employee profiles in the HRIS and benefit carrier portals

* Work with benefit carriers to resolve employee claim issues

* Reconcile invoices from benefit carriers on a weekly or/ and monthly basis

* Prepare Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) and communicate changes to payroll

* Assist with the coordination of Human Resources programs, such as wellness events and open enrollment

* Respond to employment verification requests

* Post open positions on job boards and support recruitment efforts.

* Generate reports as needed, such as headcount, Payroll and census reports

* Support year-end processing, including W-2s, ACA forms, and 401(k) records

* Manage leaves of absence, including FMLA, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), and workers' compensation claims

* Process payroll, including timekeeping review, overtime, bonuses, and deductions

* Process wage garnishments, child support orders, and tax withholding changes

* Process benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and dependent changes or corrections

* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and OSHA.

* Coordinate company training programs, Track employee training completion and certifications, and maintain accurate training records.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office environment with standard office equipment. Occasional visits to the manufacturing floor may be required to meet with employees, where moderate noise levels may be present. Occasional work beyond standard business hours may be required to support HR events, open enrollment, or business needs.

Physical Requirements

This position is classified as Sedentary Work, involving exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, or otherwise move objects.

* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

* Occasional standing and walking throughout the facility

* Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, phone, and other office equipment

* Visual acuity to review documents and data on a computer screen

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent experience

* Minimum of 3 years of experience working in Human Resources

* Prior experience with an HRIS preferred

* PHR certification preferred

Job Skills Required

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization

* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

* Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
