The Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers a one-year internship for dentists who are interested in gaining an additional year of experience in Oral Surgery. This is an opportunity for dentists to increase their knowledge and for potential application to a postgraduate OMS residency program. The intern will receive similar education and training as that of a first year OMS resident in our six -year training program. This one-year program does not count towards completion of a formal accredited OMS residency program. This program is not accredited by the American Dental Association or the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.

Minimum Requirements:

• Completion of a dental degree (DDS, DMD or BDS) from an accredited school of dentistry.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
